Thoughts about the Character:
I thought Adelina would be a veteran pirate and leader of her fleet. Back when she was still a young girl, Adelina was almost always mistaken by a boy and when the pirates raided her village even then they thought she was a boy and kidnapped her together with other young men to serve as slave in their ship, Adelina took advantage of this fact (even tho she really hated to be mistook for a boy, but she thought it would be way safer for her to pretend to be so) and changed her name to Adel, she learned fast how to talk as a man and concealed her feminine traits the best she could. She worked herself to the bone everyday, not only to survive but the pirate captain back then was really fond of hard workers and when she was brought to the ship he told everyone on board that it mattered nothing to him where all of them came from or their status, if they could be a better pirate than he is then anyone can take his position as the captain.
Adelina took his words seriously, even if it was really hard in the begginig since she missed her old life but, she began to understand the pirates, she fell in love with the ever changing sea, she found if amazing how it could be serene and peaceful but in short notice become angry and tempestuous. She also made some friends fast in the ship, because the other pirates enjoyed her company (even tho they always thought she was actually a very girlish boy). Some years has passed and Adelina got really strong, the captain called her and told her he always knew she was a woman, she froze but he told her he never told this to anyone (and he believed no one ever noticed since they were all too dense to notice anything) but he believed it could be a problem, because, Adelina was the most strong and dedicated pirate on his ship but he didn't know if all the crew would accept a female captain, Adelina then, had the idea of doing a kind of tournament, that would be more a challange for herself, she would use fake bullets and be the target and everyone on the crew would come at her with their best, after she win over the whole crew she would then tell everyone she is actually a woman named Adelina and that she fought everyone and won to get the right to be their leader, the captain liked the idea and so it was done.
In the end, when Adelina told everyone she was a woman and wanted to be their leader they accepted her really well, after all, everyone on the ship saw how much effort Adelina had putted into being the best and they all respected her for it, even tho, they still tend to call her Adel out of habit.
